It is intended for advanced high school students typically entering grades 11–12, though exceptional younger students will be considered. Applicants are expected to have taken some advanced courses in mathematics, science, or computer science. Mathematica is preferred but not a requirement.

It's a mixture of lectures, individual interactions with instructors, and homework. Each student is expected to do a small project in Mathematica, like creating a multi-step program involving several functions. Students will publish Demonstrations of their work in the Wolfram Demonstrations Project.
